Back in my teens and twenties, I sewed all of my own clothes. I loved the crazy textile patterns that were easy to find back then.
Lately I’ve been reading old books of historic textile patterns. The background of this painting is inspired by a 1920s French “juveniles” fabric, that I found in a 1991 textile history book.
